History
InChant was formed in August 2005 by then Ohio State student Stephen Hill
and Ohio State alum and Ohio State Marion Manager of Communications, Wayne Rowe.
The group's first public performance was under the name Mixed Nuts, at a
tailgate prior to a September 3, 2005, Ohio State vs. Miami University
football game. After a short stint under the name "Voice Male," InChant's name was officially adopted at their first full length concert, which was
January 19, 2006 in Morrill Hall Auditorium at Ohio State Marion, as part
of the university's Five Nights on Campus series cultural arts series.
The group's first cd "In Rhythm...In Time" was recorded in March 2006 and
released in the summer of 2006.
Originally formed
as an all men's a cappella vocal ensemble, InChant welcomed its first female members in Summer of 2006. The group has honed its musical
direction to focus on upbeat contemporary a cappella from the 1960's
through today.
